Release date set for Barotrauma's highly-anticipated Home & Harbor Expansion

Own, build, manage and defend your Outpost, as the mysterious technocratic Descendants arrive, from December 2.

Hamburg, Germany, October 26 - Daedalic Entertainment is proud to confirm that Barotrauma players will soon be able to build and manage their own outposts - as well as come face-to-face with a new faction - when the Home & Harbor Expansion arrives December 2. Both the base game and the Supporter Edition are currently available at 50% off.

The Home & Harbor Expansion adds player-owned Outposts to the acclaimed sci-fi submarine simulator, allowing players to own, develop, customize, manage and defend their own homes, as well as access entirely new gameplay through them.

Dev Diary on Youtube:

Alongside player-owned Outposts come the mysterious technocratic Descendants, a new faction that offer players new experiences through story, gameplay, lore, weapons, and of course, submarines.

Developers FakeFish and Undertow Games have released a new developer diary to accompany today's news, shedding light on its design principles, and how Outpost management ties into submarine gameplay.

Accompanying the release of the Home & Harbor Expansion is a free update for all players, that ties-in to the base game, with more story and gameplay options developing the Barotrauma experience further.

Key features:

  • Acquire simple outposts through story events - or conquer NPC outposts by force
  • Expand outposts with modules, customize them, manage their Dwellers, and build workshops as you progress through research trees
  • Discover and interact with a new faction that utilize advanced technology
  • Factions interact with one another - attacking and conquering some outposts, while trading with friendlier outposts
  • Shed light on the origins of Europa and the quest for recontacting Earth
