Hamburg, Germany - September 17, 2026 - Woodo may invite players to slow down and appreciate the small things, but its launch has given Daedalic Entertainment plenty to celebrate. Since its release yesterday, the cozy puzzle adventure has enjoyed a strong start across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
Developed by Tiny Monks Tales and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Woodo has been met with high review scores and enthusiastic player feedback. Most scored reviews published so far range from 8/10 to 10/10, with critics particularly praising its art direction, polished presentation and relaxing, tactile gameplay. At the time of writing, close to 100 percent of its Steam user reviews are positive.
The response marks an important success for Daedalic Entertainment’s publishing strategy. With its distinctive creative identity, high production quality and accessible concept, Woodo sits naturally at the intersection of storytelling and wholesome games, two of the four areas at the heart of Daedalic Entertainment’s portfolio alongside strategy and co-op games.

The performance on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 has been particularly noteworthy. Strong pre-order numbers and first-day sales have made Woodo one of Daedalic Entertainment’s strongest Nintendo Switch launches to date.
The result follows the successful Nintendo Switch 2 release of Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown earlier this year. The two games could hardly be more different, yet both have found strong audiences on Nintendo’s latest platform, demonstrating the range independent productions can achieve on Nintendo Switch 2.
“Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown already showed us how important Nintendo Switch 2 can be for ambitious independent productions,” said Jonas Hüsges, COO of Daedalic Entertainment. “Woodo now reinforces that result with a completely different genre and audience. Woodo invites players to assemble detailed wooden dioramas piece by piece. As every object finds its place, initially empty scenes fill with color, animation and life, gradually revealing a story about childhood, friendship and the joy found in small moments.
The launch was supported closely by all platform partners. Daedalic Entertainment would like to extend particular thanks to Nintendo, which introduced Woodo to a broad international audience through its Indie World Showcase and supported the game through its Indie World channels around release.
Following the strong early response on Nintendo Switch, Daedalic Entertainment is also evaluating a physical retail edition for release at a later date.

Woodo is a cozy diorama puzzle game that feels like a 3D coloring book players can touch. By assembling handcrafted wooden scenes piece by piece, players bring color and life to the world while following a nostalgic story about Foxy and her friend Ben the frog.
