You got U.S.S. Voyager home once. Q isn’t impressed...

New Free Update "Q Trials" and “Equinox” DLC coming

Hamburg, Germany - September 7, 2026 - On October 1, Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown is getting Q Trials, a free new game mode that lets Q do what he does best: mess with the rules.

You could get the idea of Q being a fan of Frostpunk and FTL. Consequently the Q Trials make life in the Delta Quadrant more demanding: Randomized events, changing routes and challenges, but also much more freedom in how you build your crew turn each journey through the Delta Quadrant into a different test. Want to put together an all-Borg crew? Go ahead. Q will probably have opinions. No. He most definitely will have opinions.

And naturally, he insisted on introducing the whole thing himself: John de Lancie returns as Q in the new Q Trials trailer on Youtube:

Launching alongside the free update is the Equinox DLC, adding the U.S.S. Equinox as a playable ship for Q Trials, together with Captain Rudolph Ransom, Maxwell Burke, and Noah Lessing.

And if U.S.S. Voyager felt a little too comfortable, the U.S.S. Equinox should fix that. It is smaller, has less room, fewer crew, and less warp power. In other words: exactly the kind of ship Q would send you across the Delta Quadrant in.

Q Trials and Equinox launch October 1 on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

About Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown

Set aboard the U.S.S. Voyager and deep in the unexplored reaches of the Delta Quadrant, Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown is a narrative-driven survival strategy game that invites players to relive and redefine the legendary starship’s journey back to Earth. The game blends exploration, ship and resource management, roguelike elements, and meaningful choices. Experience crew dynamics and a fresh take on a beloved sci-fi universe through what-if scenarios that open new possibilities.

In Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown, players take command of the U.S.S. Voyager as it traverses 12 vast sectors of the Delta Quadrant. Along the way, they’ll manage systems and crew, engage in diplomacy, navigate difficult moral decisions, and face the unknown. Familiar faces return, but their fates may differ, reshaped by the captain on the bridge.

Player decisions shape both the fate of the crew and the configuration of the U.S.S. Voyager itself. With each playthrough, the ship becomes a different version of itself, reengineered and reimagined based on the path taken through the quadrant and the command decisions made along the way.

With the development team continuously expanding the experience through free updates and new content like the Expansion Pass, no two voyages through the Delta Quadrant will ever be quite the same.
